This was a very peaceful location and the only sounds were the birds and the sheep. There was a field to walk our dog in and a common around the corner which was good. The cottage was well heated with electric storage heating. Mrs B, Ventnor, Isle Of Wight 06 April 2011
A fantastic cottage in a lovely location - this has to be one of the most peaceful spots in Britain, and we had the mountains to ourselves! The nature around Ty Du is remarkable - nesting wood peckers, swallows, kites and sparrows. The waterfall near Talgarth is very pretty and worth a look, and the church is interesting and pretty. A great place to explore the Black Mountains, highly recommended, and many thanks for the wine. The cottage is clean, homely and very comfy with a very good film collection. Thank you for pointing out all the nesting birds and wildlife, we hopefully have some good photos. We will definitely recommend it to friends. Miss O, Bewdley, Worcestershire 13 June 2010
We've had a lovely time. The cottage has been so comfortable and warm, the weather was really good and we loved our visit to this beautiful area. We really liked Newtown and Llandiloes, also Abergavenny. Everywhere is so green with lovely spring flowers. Mrs M, Lewes, East Sussex 13 June 2010
Bird watchers paradise. Mr J, Ilford, Essex 06 June 2010
The farm is along a single track road from Talgarth through fields and woods in delightful countryside. Some might be put off by the two miles, but it does mean a totally countryside experience and you can walk directly with lovely views. The accommodation is warm and cosy and the owners are very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. They are proud of the wild birds which are attracted to the farm... swallows, great spotted woodpeckers, owls and a redstart nesting on one of the barns. We thought Powys was fantastic; excellent roads, wonderful countryside, and some attractive small towns. It is a quiet and most beautiful part of Wales, quite unknown to us beforehand with some of the most helpful and friendly people we have ever come across. Mrs M, Lewes, East Sussex 23 May 2010
Location of cottage was great. Fantastic area for walks. Cottage was dog friendly which helped enormously. A little bit of the beaten track but well worth a visit. Black Mountain walk was fab!!!! Mrs O, Winsford, Cheshire 07 April 2010
If you want to get away from it all, love scenery, love walking and take a dog then I would highly recommend this cottage. I had a very relaxing time. Miss S, MELTON MOWBRAY 05 June 2009
